Published Updated

An English-only, cover-free template for recording conference themes, individual sessions, open questions, and concrete follow-up actions.

Example article. Replace each prompt with your own notes and verify names, titles, quotations, and links against the conference programme.

Event Overview

Event: TODO: conference or workshop name
Place and date: TODO: location, format, and dates
Programme: TODO: link to the official programme

Use this opening to explain why the event was relevant to your research and which parts of the programme you attended.

Recurring Themes

Theme One

Summarise a question or method that appeared across several sessions. Distinguish the speakers’ claims from your own interpretation, and link to published material where available.

Theme Two

Note where participants agreed, where definitions differed, and which evidence would help resolve the disagreement.

Selected Sessions

Talk or Panel Title

Speaker or chair: TODO
Session link: TODO

Capture the central question, the approach, and the evidence presented. If the session reports unfinished work, mark preliminary findings as such.

Questions to Revisit

  • Which assumptions were left implicit?
  • Which sources or datasets should be read next?
  • Would a different disciplinary perspective change the interpretation?

Conversations and Connections

Record only details that collaborators have agreed may be shared. For private conversations, keep a separate personal note rather than publishing names or contact information by default.

Follow-up

  • Read the cited papers or project pages.
  • Write to a speaker or participant if follow-up was invited.
  • Relate one conference theme to an active research question.
  • Revisit these notes after the proceedings are published.
